CHOOSE YOUR WASTEWATER APPLICATION
Metasphere’s set of remote telemetry units from the Point Colour range provide a robust set of solutions for permanent monitoring of the wastewater network, covering all applications from CSO monitoring, sewer level monitoring, wastewater quality monitoring to smart networks combining specialist sensors, RTUs and the Metasphere data visualisation suite, Palette.
CSO & SEWER
Combined Sewer Overflows (CSO) from waste and surface water are designed to alleviate pressure on the network by discharging excess flow at a controlled point to prevent flooding upstream. These discharge points can release untreated effluent into the environment with the potential to cause pollution and environmental damage. This risk is why so many wastewater companies choose to provide permanent telemetry to monitor these assets.
Sewer blockages are the main cause of residential and urban flooding in the UK, especially in high-risk urban areas. Monitoring sewers in real-time allows resources to be deployed to the relevant areas quickly, ideally before any flood event. Metasphere's Point Colour robust telemetry units (RTUs) connect with most sensors to provide timely updates on the status of sewer levels under manholes.
Quality is an important factor of the wastewater network which is often overlooked. It can reveal information about performance and hydraulic change, and indicate ingress and potential asset failure. Historically, this has focused on the monitoring of salinity around coastal areas and managing the inlet to treatment works to optimise and protect the works processes.
